KARACHI: Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) have decided to demolish illegal offices of People’s Aman Committee, illegally constructed in different areas of Karachi, sources said Saturday.
According to sources, the details of illegal offices of the Lyari-based group have been collected. Sources said according to the survey carried out, all the offices of the banned group are constructed unlawfully.
Illegal offices of the Aman Committee are constructed in Lyari, Yousuf Goth, Malir, Old Golimar, Mawach Goth, Gulbahar, Ilyas Goth, Alfalah road, Singo Lane, Sarbazi Mohalla, Saeedabad and Ali Muhammad.
Sindh government had declared People’s Aman Committee a banned organization in 2011. The committee had been barred from pursuing any political/social activities at all.
The Lyari-based group was banned under Clause (11/B) of Anti-terrorism Act 1997. Also, authorities concerned have demolished over 100 illegal offices of MQM in Karachi and also in the interior Sindh. One Pakistan People’s Party office was also razed in the drive against unlawful constructions.
