ISLAMABAD: Authorities registered a case against eight officials of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Sunday on allegedly being involved in human smuggling.
According to reports, the FIA officials have been nominated in the FIR after three individuals who travelled from Benazir International Airport – Islamabad to Libya – were found to have been travelling on fake travel documents.
The investigation was started on the directives of FIA Director Mazhar Kakakhel and eight officers were declared accused while three of them became witnesses. A case against five personnel Inspector Ziaul Hassan, Sub inspectors Azmat, Qari Arshad, and Shabana with Head Constable Faisal has been lodged.
However, a case has also been registered against three FIA agents – Kamran, Urdsher and Arsalan – whereas a joint investigation team has also been formed for further inquiry. Moreover, raids are underway to arrest the absconders.
