SLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Friday disposed of Sheikh Rohail Asghar’s petition against trial court verdict after withdrawal of the application. Justice Noorul Haq N Qureshi of IHC heard the case filed by MNA Sheikh Rohail Asghar. During proceedings of the case, Advocate Faisal Mahboob counsel for Sheikh Rohail appeared before the single member bench and stated that the police registered the case ignoring the real facts. He said that his client is participating in a TV talk show at the time of traffic accident. He said that the Kohsar Police Station registered the First Information Report (FIR) against his client before the high court’s verdict over the matter. He told that his client wanted to withdraw its petition. Later, the court disposed of the case. The police registered FIR on the directives of trial court against Sheikh Rohail Asghar over allegedly killing of a security guard in a traffic accident. Rohail challenged trial court’s decision in the IHC.
