RAWALPINDI – Turkish General Staff General Hulusi Akar, who is on official visit to Pakistan, on Wednesday called on Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (JCSC) Chairman General Rashad Mahmood, according to a news release, issued here by the Inter-Services Public Relations.
The visiting dignitary was accompanied by a high-level delegation. During the bilateral talks, matters of mutual interest with emphasis on geo-strategic situation and security challenges came under discussion.
Both sides reaffirmed the resolve to further enhance cooperation between the two armed forces. The visiting dignitary lauded the professionalism of Pakistan’s armed forces and acknowledged the sacrifices rendered by Pakistan in fight against terrorism. Earlier, upon arrival at the Joint Staff Headquarters, the visiting general was presented guard of honour by a smartly turned out contingent of tri-services.
